Having worked in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries as an analytical chemist for 6 years, I approach problems with a mindset focused on understanding how every individual piece works so I can make an efficient final product that utilizes all of the pieces to their potential. While a career marriage of science and technology would be a great fit for me, I am looking for a place that is full of challenges, gives intellectual freedom and instills excellent professional programming habits.
Due to physical health limitations, my career journey took me out of the laboratory and back in the classroom to a 6 month coding bootcamp course. I wanted to take control of my future again as my body forced me to consider careers that I could pursue from home. After realizing I wasn't going to make it back into the lab, I started coding. My toolbox so far is filled with HTML, CSS, Javascript, NodeJS and SQL in both PostGreSQL and mySQL. I plan on diving deeper into Node and Javascript in the near future, and would love to expand to other languages in the years to come.
I've never let what's uncontrollable in life fully control my path. I control what I can and try not to worry about what I cannot. I love to learn, and I fully intend to continue learning coding for the rest of my life. I want to master languages and learn new technologies so I can push boundaries, solve problems, and make the world more and better connected through technology.
I'm new to the industry, but having worked both in development and GMP environments as an analytical chemist has prepared me for the challenges ahead. I'm very quick at learning, love to problem solve, and love a good challenge. I'm excited what the future holds as a programmer and look forward to the journey ahead.
